eTitles and the DMV
Decision Dynamics is currently working with the agencies responsible for vehicle
titles (DMV) in South Carolina and Georgia. Both states have recently implemented
the Electronic Liens and Titles (ELT) program for managing titles for vehicles with
liens.
This new service revolutionizes the lien and title process, as banks,
credit unions, dealers, and other financial institutions no longer need to store
and file paper titles.
The impact on each DMV is significant, as they no longer have
to print and mail titles with liens to the financial institutions. Electronic titling
is much more secure, as unlike paper titles, the DMV and the financial institutions
know the exact status and location of electronic titles at all times. Electronic
titles also deter title fraud and related activities that pose risks to title holders.
DMV is committed to continuously improving its tools and processes to better serve
their business customers. The ELT Program is a major step in transforming a paper-based,
error-prone process into a streamlined electronic process using the web. DDI is
pleased to be working with each DMV to extend the ELT program to all lenders processing SC and GA titles.
